Managing Stress and Trauma with the Community Resiliency Model In-Person

The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) provides a resiliency-informed approach to trauma and toxic stress. It teaches that people are resilient, and people need to learn how skills of wellbeing can be cultivated and how they can reduce suffering. CRM is both trauma-informed and resiliencyinformed care, it invites us to get to know our nervous systems and our internal sensations. CRM is a biological model, and it is based on neurobiology, our brains have an enormous ability to grow and adapt. The concepts of neuroplasticity and neurogenesis show us that what we pay attention to grows! CRM’s focus is on the biology of the human nervous system.

Participants will learn about toxic stress and trauma, and the body’s natural responses to these stressors. We will learn about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs), and what they teach us about the human capacity for resiliency. This session will introduce three of the six CRM skills, tracking, resourcing, and help now.
